Virginia Benson of Fairfield, passed away peacefully Saturday, May 11, 2013. Born in Bridgeport, Mrs. Benson had been a Fairfield resident for over 40 years. She proudly served in the U.S. Navy W.A.V.E.S. during World War II. Mrs. Benson was a retired executive secretary at GTE in Stamford. Virginia enjoyed playing bridge with her friends at the Fairfield Senior Center, and was also a member of the St. Thomas Seniors. She is survived by her loving son, daughter and many cousins.
