Donald R. "Pop-Pop" Pleines, 86, died Tuesday February 12, 2013 at his home in Branford. He was the husband of the late Teresia Cronin Pleines. Mr. Pleines was born May 19, 1926 in New Haven, a son of the late Carl and Ann Shanahan Pleines. He served in the U. S. Army in WW II in the South Pacific, and was part of the rebuilding of Japan after the war. He was a member of the American Legion Post 83 in Branford.
